How Blind Royal works

Blind Royal is played with your own wines. The game guides your tasting step by step — from first impression to final verdict.

1

Choose the wines

Blind Royal always starts with the wines. Each pack tells you exactly what kind of bottles to buy before the game begins. You don't need specific brands. You only need to follow a few clear criteria.

2

Make it blind

Cover the bottles or use identical decanters. Label them clearly as Wine A and Wine B. Blind tasting is essential. It keeps the game fair, challenging and free from bias.

3

Everyone joins

One player hosts the game on an iPad. All other players join instantly on their own phone. No downloads required.

4

Play the duel

The game is played in guided rounds:

First impressions
Aroma and structure
Style and origin
Final verdict

Each round is timed and managed by the host.

5

Reveal & results

At the end, the wines are revealed. Scores, insights and tasting profiles are shown for every player.

Duration & group size

A standard game lasts around 90 minutes. Optional extensions can bring this up to 120 minutes. Blind Royal works best with 3–8 players, but larger groups are possible.
